b. Foreign language:
Learning a foreign language is obligatory starting from the pre-elementary cycle.
The foreign language could be either French or English, and it carries the same load as the national language (Arabic).
55.45% of schools teach French as the first foreign language, 21.8% teach English as the first foreign language, and 22.75% teach both French and English, one acting as the first foreign language and the other as a second foreign language (starting from the intermediate cycle).
